![]() Seeing this space and time reflected in the way human being come to care for one another makes for a deeper watching experience for me as a viewer. This is a truth I wish was reflected in Western writing in film and TV. Western flicks go straight to the shedding of clothing, which is boring! In this Korean drama (I've now watched two others), the distance between the character, or, the 'space' the characters give one another in the expressing of emotions and emotional attachment, corresponds better to how human bonding happens in real life (I think). As a North-American, I am struck by the "space" the personages give to one another when emotions are being expressed in the West, we are not accustomed to this. The writing for the extended cast of characters is rich, giving secondary personalities that are very enjoyable to follow as well.Ĭongratulations to Yoon Ji-ryun, on a deeply touching script. The love of the mother for her son and for his special friend is in the writing of Yoon Ji-ryun, the source of the power of this series, and beautifully played, first by the two younger actors, and then by the two older actors. I am struck by the power of the character of the mother, despite her death at the beginning of the series "Angle Eyes". ![]() It was a fun way to enjoy free time during teaching duties this past spring.
